About Us
Nestled near the community of Swan Lake in the Municipality of Lorne, the Beaconsfield Church & Cemetery is one of rural Manitoba's most enduring heritage sites. The cemetery's earliest recorded burial dates to 1883 — well before the church building was erected in 1903.
Originally a Methodist church, it became the Beaconsfield United Church in 1925 following the great Canadian Church Union. Though regular services ended in 1955, the Beaconsfield Church & Cemetery Committee continues to ensure that this sacred ground is honoured and preserved for all time.
